APRIL 20TH, 2021

Notice is hereby given that the Monroe City Planning Commission will meet on Tuesday, April 20th, 2021 at the Monroe City Offices, 10 North Main Street, which meeting shall begin promptly at 7:00 p.m.        


1.        Chairman Bart Lee conducting- Meeting called to order- Prayer- Roll call.

The regular meeting of the Monroe City Planning Commission was called to order by Chairman Bart Lee at 7:00 p.m. Opening prayer was offered by Commissioner Northrup.

2.         Approval of previous meeting minutes held February 16th, 2021.

Commissioner Roberts made a motion to accept the minutes with the stated corrections. Seconded by Commissioner Mecham. All were in favor. Motion Passes 3-0.

3.        Citizens comments.

Recorder Leavitt informed the Commissioners of a new bill that will be going into effect later this year that will require all planning and zoning commissioners to take a state mandated training. Commissioner Lee thanked recorder Leavitt for the information and asked her to keep them updated on when the training is released.

4.         Single lot split with flag lot access located at 495 East 400 South submitted by Johnny Parsons.

Johnny Parsons is here seeking to be able to split his property with an included flag lot. He thought when he split his property before for his son to build his house that the split included a deeded road recorded from his property. After researching, the road was never recorded which makes his house landlocked. Mr. Parsons is proposing to bring 90’ into a cul-de-sac and then make an additional lot available for his daughter to build a house on. The cul-de-sac will be able to be accessed off his house, his son’s home, and the property he is proposing to split. The commissioners saw no issues with the proposed split and encouraged Mr. Parsons to get a survey completed and move forward with his lot split.

 5.       Review property split located at 285 West 300 South submitted by Javalan Redd.

Mr. Redd was unable to come to planning commission tonight. He will look to get on the agenda in a future meeting.

6.         Adjournment.

Commissioner Roberts made a motion to adjourn at 7:18. Seconded by Commissioner Mecham. All were in favor Motion Passed. 3-0.
